At One Bowl Housing Corporation, we are committed to driving positive change in Ontario through Indigenous-led solutions. In a letter shared today with Premier Doug Ford, Ontario Ministers, and political party leaders, including Bonnie Crombie (Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party), Mike Schreiner (Leader of the Ontario Green Party), and Marit Stiles (Leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party), we have called for immediate action to address Ontario’s housing crisis and economic resilience.

Our recommendations focus on four key pillars
Expanding the Fortress Am-Can approach beyond critical minerals and energy to include Indigenous-led sustainable housing solutions and forestry initiatives.
Formalizing Boreal Exclusivity Agreements for sustainable forest resource management and to accelerate housing production.
Opening up the Forest Biomass Program to Indigenous communities to invest in bioeconomic opportunities, including Thermolog technology, which will create jobs and reduce housing shortages.
Recognizing Indigenous businesses as key partners in strengthening Ontario’s forestry sector and economy.
We are committed to working with all political parties to advance these critical recommendations, ensuring that Ontario’s future is grounded in Indigenous leadership and sustainable growth. Together, we can build a more sustainable, self-sufficient economy.
